Education Required to Become a Game Developer

A degree required for a game developer is a high school diploma, and a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or something that is related to one of those two. A higher degree is sometimes preferred over a bachelor's degree, like a master's degree. Some colleges who teach classes in game design or programming include, but are not limited to: Full Sail University, Grand Canyon University, and Southern New Hampshire University. Your fields must be in computer science, software engineering, or programming. Voluntary certifications are available for lisensure and certification. Required skills are knowledge of computers and knowing how to program.
